Hello BOB blog readers!
Here is a letter from the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Gardens. Let’s help make them one of the “Great Public Spaces” in Canada! The real competition is a few places in Toronto.. Now we love Toronto.. But we love Vancouver more! And we want to show off one of our gems. So vote away!
Lovin’ our city,
The BOB Team

Dear wonderful folks at BOB,
We’ve been nominated as one of the The Great Places in Canada in the “Great Public Spaces” category!
There are first, second and third place winers based on votes, we believe….we need your help to be number 1!! The three categories are “Great Streets,” “Great Neighbourhoods,” and “Great Public Spaces.” We’re in Great Public Spaces.

You can only vote once each time you go on the site AND have to wait a while between visits. Please pass this to all your network and ask for their support for us. The voting goes on until the end of February; this is going to be a long campaign

We have received a few emails lately with some neat things happening around the inner city. So we are passing them on to you! We love to hear about other events in the area, and even blog about them if we get the chance (we’re pretty passionate about our area).

One of many events Building Opportunities with Business has been asked to promote is the upcoming Paul Wong exhibit at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden on March 13th from 5-10pm. The cost is $10 dollars at the door or in advance.
What is Five Elements?
The 5 elements: earth, air, fire, water, and metal, and the five senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell are inspirations for making use of this spectacular 15th century compound of gardens, courtyards, waterways and architectural features in the heart of Chinatown. The contemporary, classical, pictorial and moving images, old and new school, are digitally meshed in this final experience.
For more info visit the Paul Wong Projects website, or read this review (with video), or visit the Garden’s website itself. BOB is always happy to promote events taking place in the inner-city especially for our partners over at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.
Stay tuned for more events taking place in the inner-city in March.
